Book Club - Friday 16 May

The next book club is at Sue's (N0 8 ). The book is Random Acts of Heroic Love by Danny Scheinmann. "Danny Scheinmann paints a dramatic portrait of two men sustaining their lives through the memory of love. Cinematic and brimming with raw emotions, it is the magnificent and emotive debut from a remarkable new writer..." according to the summary on the Richard and Judy site. We will see. Meet at Sue's at 8.00pm.

Liverpool History Night

Friday 9 May - Dave and Barbara's (No 6)
8.30 pm Start

This is a DIY approach to the history of Liverpool from the 10th century onwards. The idea is that families take a century each and provide a 5-10 minute summary of the key events in that century in Liverpool. A summary of the major historical events and things like the size of the population, the main elements of the city's economy, fashion, social habits, transport, housing etc. Essentially anything that takes your fancy that might be interesting. Bonus points for anything specific about Brockholme Road.

Centuries and families are:

10th Mike and Kath
11th Dave and Val
12th Dave and Mary
13th Nuala and Paul
14th Jim and Julie
15th Dave and Barbara
16th Yvonne and Ramsey
17th Sue
18th Kevin nand Irene
19th Joy and Colin
